Founded in the year 1050, Weltenburg Abbey is the oldest monastery brewery in the world, set spectacularly where the Danube cuts through limestone cliffs.

The classic Helles - powerful, straightforward and unforgettable. Pours a perfectly clear golden straw color. Smells of sweet bread, yeast, and just a touch of spicy noble hops. Asam Bock is refined by generations of brewing and is must for aficionados of the style. Huge dark malt presence and just enough earthiness to keep it from being sweet. It hits all the right notes including a killer mouthfeel that is silky smooth and soft, while staying very clean.
The golden Märzen beer, a jewel of Bavarian brewing, combines the exceptionally fine fragrance with a light, fruity taste. Full-bodied and at the same time spicy, the malt is emphasized from the first taste to the finish. It has a big sweetness combined with a nearly tangy fruitiness that just meshes well. Nice balance, excellent complexity.
Tasting notes. Fruity, full-bodied balance of fine hints of hops and invigorating bitter sweetness.
An interesting take on the style by one of the oldest breweries. Good looking hefeweizen with impressive head and great lacing. The nose is deep on the spicy side, on top of white bread. Taste of wheat malts, lemon, banana and yeast is delicious. Very smooth and refreshing in the mouth with a velvety finish. Hops are present and delicately balance the delicious cascade of wheat and fruity notes.
Tasting notes. A Hefe on its own, with lots of character. Dynamic, playful and well balanced.
This Festbier is less amber and more golden than your traditional Märzen style. It has a smooth, slightly malt character, moderate bitterness and a clean crisp finish.
This Maibock, or Helles Bock, is a German-style pale lager traditionally brewed for spring. It has a light golden color and is characterized by a smooth, malty flavor with a touch of sweetness, balanced by a moderate hop bitterness and a clean, refreshing finish.
Tasting notes. Full-bodied, tasty, spicy with a slight hint of hops.
This malt-forward Weissbier Bock (Weizenbock) provides the perfect wheat beer enjoyment for the cooler months with its full-bodied fruity taste and subtle yeast notes. Smooth and strong!
